Elis UK aiming for Net Zero carbon emissions by 2045

We’re delighted to announce that Elis UK is aiming for Net Zero carbon emissions by 2045 on all scopes of emissions*. This major commitment is the next step on a journey to reduce our emissions which started over ten years ago and which has been certified over several years by The Carbon Trust. This goal, part of our Global Elis Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Strategy, is aligned with the United Kingdom government’s ambition to be carbon neutral by 2050.

Our business model of renting and maintaining textiles is by nature part of the circular economy and has provided a solid foundation for our CSR initiatives. As part of our ambitious 2025 CSR commitments, we are accelerating our development of innovative and responsible products and services, reducing our environmental footprint and ensuring that we have a positive impact on our people and our communities.

Through our business model of designing waste out and keeping material in circulation throughout its life, we are already providing our customers with a lower carbon footprint option. This new commitment is the natural next step.

Mark, Franklin, Company Operations Director for Elis UK explains:

“Our customers are increasingly concerned about sustainability and climate change in their own operations and in their supply chains, just as we are at Elis. Announcing both our intent to attain Net Zero carbon emissions and the timescale we are targeting, makes us the first laundry and textile services company in the UK to make such a commitment. We’re looking forward to working with both customers and suppliers to meet this challenging objective. “

*Scope of emissions:
