The RoSPA Silver Award winners have achieved a high level of performance underpinned by good management systems which are delivering consistent improvement and are working towards the level of excellence required for a Gold Award.

This category is designed to recognise the implementation of a campaign that has led to significant improvements to health & safety. Elis focused on a common workplace accident causation slip trips and falls (STF) and introduced a See It, Treat It, Fix It campaign whereby Elis team members were our STF Champions, resulting in 75% reduction in STF lost time accidents.

This category is designed to recognise health and safety teams that are making a significant difference in their workplace. Elis Safety Team are proud of this award, the UK/IRE QSE team provide foundation, support, training, and direction for all our Elis facilities across the UK and IRE.

Elis UK is an active member of the Textile Services Association (TSA). TSA keeps us informed about the developments in the industry and provides access to the latest health and safety information, promotes sustainability and energy efficiency in all areas of the industry, from textile management to machine maintenance.

Elis has achieved the EcoVadis Platinum Sustainability Rating. Elis’ CSR strategy meets EcoVadis’ assessment criteria, which are based on international standards and four CSR themes (Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement). This medal positions the Group in the top 1% of the approximately 125,000 companies assessed by EcoVadis.

SafeContractor is a market-leading contractor accreditation that helps contractors demonstrate their commitment to health & safety and sustainability. This accreditation showcases Elis UK’s high standards and commitment to quality, safety, and sustainability.

Elis are certified to ISO 9001: 2015 the trusted quality management system standard, demonstrating our commitment to monitor and continually improve the quality of our products and services.

Elis UK is certified to the I.S. EN 14065:2016 – Textiles Laundry Processed Textiles – Biocontamination Control System, demonstrating that our laundry service has a system in place to control microbiological contamination in our laundered textiles. 

We have our own in-house microbiological testing laboratory in Coventry which is UKAS certified to ISO 17025 – General Requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories.

The laboratory carries out a range of analysis activities to support the control of microbiological hazards and provides regular reports to the site management team.

Elis Surgical Solutions sites, Camberwell and Shrewsbury are certified to EN ISO 13485 – Medical Devices for the manufacture and distribution of sterile and non-sterile theatre gowns, theatre drapes, tray wraps, procedure packs, sterile reusable instruments and holloware.

Elis UK is an active member of the British Safety Industry Federation (BSIF) and are a BSIF Registered Safety Supplier. BSIF provides us support and guidance on a wide range of occupational safety issues. Through the Registered Safety Supplier Scheme (RSSS), this enables us to keep up to date with PPE and safety products.

The Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) Earned Recognition scheme is a voluntary scheme for all vehicle operators who can demonstrate a strong track record of compliance and adherence to standards.

Elis UK is an active member of Sedex, keeping us up to date with data-driven insights, tools, and services to help us continuously improve environmental, social, and governance (ESG) outcomes.
